Evan MacLean holds a finance degree from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts and has used his background in finance during his career as a property and casualty underwriter. Early in his career, Evan MacLean worked as a senior commercial casualty underwriter in Chicago.

Now serving at Captives Insure in Knoxville, Tennessee, as the senior captive underwriter, Evan MacLean strives to structure, price, and develop risk transfer and fronted captive solutions so that they align with client objectives and carrier partner guidelines, with an overriding goal of long-term profitability. He also manages the Captives Insure $25 million business book, with a focus on increasing underwriting profitability, optimizing client retention, and demonstrating disciplined risk selection.

Mr. MacLean engages with a variety of professional organizations that include The Institutes Knowledge Group, the CPCU Society, and the European Captive Forum. When he is not overseeing risk and profitability at Captives Insure, he enjoys staying active through skiing and golf. He also likes to travel.
